Have you ever noticed how a single color can shift your mood? A soft blue can bring calm, a bright yellow can stir joy, and a deep green can remind you of peace and renewal. Color is more than decoration—it’s a language of the soul. And when paired with creativity, it becomes therapy.
The Connection Between Color & Emotion

God designed creation in living color, from the fiery sunsets to the wildflowers in the field. Scripture reminds us in Ecclesiastes 3:11, “He hath made every thing beautiful in his time.” Color is part of that beauty, woven into His creation to inspire hope, balance, and healing.
In art therapy, colors give us a way to express feelings that words can’t capture. A child might paint their sadness in shades of gray or their joy in splashes of orange. Adults, too, can find relief when they allow their hearts to speak in color rather than remain silent.
Healing Through Creativity

Creativity unlocks what’s been tucked away. The act of painting, sketching, or even filling a page of a coloring book can help release stress and uncover joy. I’ve seen clients walk into a session carrying the weight of the week, only to leave lighter after simply playing with colors on paper.
The process—not the product—is what heals. Whether or not you call yourself an artist, you can experience the therapeutic power of color. Pick up a brush, try a new shade for your walls, or explore my Color by Spaces series. Let color guide your emotions, release what no longer serves you, and welcome peace into your home and heart.
Design & Daily Living

In interior design, color sets the tone for how we live in a space. A muted palette in a washroom can invite stillness and reflection, while a vibrant dining room palette might encourage connection and laughter. Choosing colors intentionally is like choosing how you want to feel when you walk through your door.
When I design, I ask: What atmosphere will bring both healing and joy to this space? Because your home is more than walls and furniture—it’s a sanctuary.
Your Invitation to Create

This week, I encourage you to experiment with color. Journal with a pack of crayons, paint a canvas in hues that reflect your current season, or even rearrange your décor using new
tones. Let your creativity unlock the joy and healing God wants to pour into your life.
